The Betsy Lehman Center for Patient Safety, a Massachusetts state agency, came to RainCastle with a clear strategic vision: build a brand and online presence to help propel a patient safety movement in the Commonwealth. Website Transformation
Originally, The Betsy Lehman Center had just a single page on the state Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) website. Working with the client team, we created a user-friendly website that highlights the Center’s initiatives and offers access to their educational resources for improving patient safety.
Our Solution
Visual Brand
We developed a distinctive visual brand that conveys the user-friendliness and accessibility core to the Center’s mission. For the logo, we designed an updated version of the Massachusetts state seal to emphasize the Center’s role as a trusted government resource
Website Content Editing
While the Center staff was adept at communicating their activities, writing for the web was a new challenge. Our copywriter worked closely with the Betsy Lehman team to craft clear and concise content optimized for the web.
Patient Safety Navigator
Helping healthcare providers navigate the complexities of dealing with adverse medical events was a top priority for the Center. We collaborated with the client to create the Patient Safety Navigator – an intuitive online tool to help guide providers on how to prevent and respond to adverse events.
Animated Videos
Animated video is an effective way to engage and educate audiences. We partnered with the Center write, design and produce a series of videos on a range of topics—from guidance on using the Patient Safety Navigator to root cause assessment to tips for using PPE during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Integrated Campaign
The Roadmap to Health Care Safety for Massachusetts is a strategic plan to accelerate progress on making healthcare safer, developed by The Betsy Lehman Center and the Massachusetts Healthcare Safety and Quality Consortium. We partnered with them to visually communicate the new strategic plan through an integrated campaign comprising a PowerPoint presentation, animated video and a website update.
Outcome
Our ongoing work has helped position The Betsy Lehman Center as a leader in patient safety advocacy and education across Massachusetts. They have a strong and consistent brand identity and an online presence that is distinctive, dynamic and accessible.
