Challenge

Thermo Fisher Scientific (TFS) is a $10 billion purveyor of analytical instruments, laboratory equipment, software, services, consumables and reagents. TFS serves customers within pharmaceutical and biotech companies, hospitals and clinical diagnostic labs, universities, research institutions and government agencies. TFS is a merger of 2 giant products companies, Thermo Scientific and Fisher Scientific. In the areas of Stem Cell and Cell Culture development, TFS sought to begin evolving into a more integrated "solution selling" approach rather than selling silo'd products.

Solution

TFS tapped RainCastle to differentiate them in a crowded space by developing key messages and communications tools for the TFS sales team to use with prospects and customers. RainCastle articulated the TFS product landscape, in the areas of Stem Cell and Cell Culture Development, by mapping TFS' suite of products to the laboratory processes employed by research scientists. The communication strategy underscored TFS' credibility and scale in meeting the complex needs of these scientific customers. RainCastle supported this strategy by developing an integrated communications system for the Stem Cell Excellence and Cell Culture Excellence programs that included interactive "features and benefits" Flash presentations, brochures, product literature, e-newsletters, email templates, package labels and multiple event graphics The communications systems created for TFS by RainCastle were widely circulated, used internationally and are now referenced by the corporate communications team as a brand standard that other divisions will follow.
